I am Asian and have a nose that does not project enough and I would like rhinoplasty to repair it. But I had a nose job for deviated septum when I was younger. Would the previous nose job affect a new repair?

In an effort to achieve more projection, we may need to use cartilage to achieve this aesthetic goal. That cartilage is typically obtained from the septum. Given the face you already had a septum surgery, you may not have enough septal cartilage to achieve this goal. As such, we may need to look at alternative sources for cartilage. One alternative is ear cartilage. Through a small incision behind the ear, we can obtain a portion of ear cartilage that does not change the appearance of the ear, but will give us some cartilage we need for nasal surgery. Another potential source for cartilage is rib cartilage.
