Asian rhinoplasty with chin augmentation – is this common?
How common is it in Asian patients to combine rhinoplasty with chin augmentation? What does this accomplish?
Rhinoplasty combined with chin augmentation is commonly performed in patients who have disproportion of the nose/chin relationship. A small or recessed chin may make a nose appear bigger on profile; therefore, combining a chin implant to address the small chin will improve the harmony of facial features on profile view. In some individuals who have a small chin and fullness of neck, the combination of neck liposuction and chin augmentation further improves the harmony of facial features on profile view.
