What does “pillow face” mean and how is it prevented?

Over time, we lose volume to the face, resulting in older, hollow appearance. One solution is the injection of filler material. If too much filler material is injected, the result can be large, unnatural lips and unnaturally large cheeks. This appearance of “over-injection” of filler material is known as “pillow face”. We avoid this appearance by adding volume to volume-deficient areas in a subtle manner, so that you may appear more youthful without looking overdone. Also, we tend to favor the use of hyaluronic acid fillers which are super forgiving as they can be reversed with an enzyme, hyaluronidase.
