I have neck bands and fat in my neck. Would a necklift address these issues?

The neck bands you are experiencing are related to a neck muscle called the platysma. There are several potential treatment options for these neck bands. One treatment option is Botox injection into the muscles that form the bands. Another option is surgery. Of the surgical options, one potential treatment is called a submentoplasty. Through an incision underneath the chin, these neck bands can be stitched together to minimize the appearance of these neck bands. If there is excessive skin and/or these neck bands are very wide, I may incorporate an incision behind the ear to remove excess skin and further minimize the appearance of these bands…this procedure is referred to as a necklift. If you have excessive fat in the neck, I would perform neck liposuction at the same time as the aforementioned procedures.
