Acne Scars

When an inflamed blemish swells, it can result in damage to the walls of the pore. The body’s healing response creates thickened scar tissue, forming an acne scar.

Wrinkles

Wrinkles appear in areas like the face, neck, décolletage, and the backs of the hands. Age lines like crow’s feet, horizontal forehead lines, and frown lines form as a result of repeated muscle movements. Midface wrinkles like parentheses lines, marionette lines, lipstick lines, and the nasolabial folds appear due to a decline in collagen and elastin production.

Bunny Lines

Bunny lines are tiny lines that form across the nasal bridge and on its sides. Also known as scrunch lines, wolf lines, or nasoglabellar lines, these fine wrinkles result from repeated movements of the procerus, nasalis, compressor naris, and levator nasi alaequae muscles. Laughing, squinting, and sniffing can contract these muscles.

Sleep Lines

When a person is sleeping, they are unconsciously pressing the thin skin of their décolletage against their pillows and sheets. This causes a high degree of pressure and friction, resulting in folding and creasing. These tiny creases are called sleep lines.

Dark Circles

Dark areas under the eyes create a chronically exhausted and depressed look. They can be caused by shadows cast by puffy bags and prominent tear troughs. Thinned lower-eyelid skin can also play a role in their appearance.

Downturned Smile

The outer corners of the lips, also called the oral commissures, can sag with time, creating a downturned smile. This is often due to overactive depressor angulis oris muscles that repeatedly pull down the oral commissures. A downturned smile can make a person look constantly sad.

Exfoliation

When dead and damaged skin cells cling to the epidermal layer, the skin looks rough, dull, flaky, and dry. Exfoliation removes these skin cells, revealing fresh and undamaged skin. This process treats clogged pores, oversized pores, age lines, roughness, hyperpigmentation, acne scars, and complexion issues. It also improves skincare-product absorption.

Gummy Smile

If a larger-than-normal portion of a person’s gums shows when they’re smiling or laughing, they have what is called a gummy smile. This cosmetic issue can cause people to feel self-conscious.

Hair Loss

Hair loss can occur due to genetics, immune-system conditions, hormone changes, stress, or certain medications. It can result in thinning patches, bald areas of the scalp, a receding hairline, or a center or side part that continues to widen.

Hyperhidrosis

Hyperhidrosis is a condition characterized by excessive sweating in areas like the armpits, palms, feet, face, and scalp. This excessive perspiration is due to overactive sweat glands and can cause embarrassment in social situations.

Hyperpigmentation/Melasma/Sun Spots

Hyperpigmentation—the excessive production of melanin pigment on patches of skin—takes many forms, including sun spots and melasma. This skin issue can occur due to sun overexposure, hormone changes, medication side-effects, injuries, and skin inflammation.

Large Pores

The skin’s surface is covered in tiny pores. When pores are enlarged due to congestion and loss of skin elasticity, they can become prominent and distracting.

Lip Enhancement

Many people have lips that look thin, droopy, poorly defined, or uneven. This can be the result of the aging process, genetics, and environmental factors like prolonged UV exposure and smoking. Our Newport Beach medspa treatments can enhance the volume, definition, proportions, curve, and symmetry of the lips.

Nasal Flaring

When a person smiles, laughs, or inhales, their dilator naris posterior muscle may exert lateral tension on their nostrils. This can result in excessive nasal flaring.

Overprotruding Neck Bands (Platysma Bands)

The platysma muscles in the neck separate and sag over time as a result of the natural aging process. This creates the pronounced appearance of harsh vertical neck bands.

Clogged/Congested Pores

Excess oil, dead skin cells, and dirt can make pores congested and clogged. This can lead to acne breakouts, self-consciousness, and embarrassment.

Sebaceous Hyperplasia

When sebaceous glands are clogged with trapped oil, small shiny bumps form on the surface of the skin. This skin condition is called sebaceous hyperplasia. These bumps typically form on the face and can be a frustrating cosmetic issue.

Skin Hydration/Dry Skin

Dry, dehydrated skin can look flaky, rough, dull, and lifeless. It can also feel tight and itchy. At Batniji Facial Plastic Surgery, we can restore hydration to dry, dehydrated skin with our high-quality medspa treatments.

Skin Laxity

Skin tissue sags over time due to a natural decline in the tissues’ collagen and elastin protein production rate. Sun overexposure and smoking can also contribute to collagen loss. To restore tightness and firmness to drooping, aged-looking skin, our skincare experts can perform a number of treatments.

Skin Rejuvenation

Skin-rejuvenation treatments in Beverly Hills improve the skin’s health and appearance in a variety of ways. This can involve restoring a bright and even complexion, tightening sagging skin, smoothing out rough skin, and reducing the look of scars, acne scars, wrinkles, and hyperpigmentation.

Skin Resurfacing

Skin resurfacing refers to any treatment that removes many layers of skin, encouraging growth of new and undamaged skin. It can address rough texture, scars, acne scars, age spots, wrinkles, laxity, warts, and uneven skin tone.

Skin Texture

Rough skin texture is the result of prolonged exposure to sun, wind, pollution, and other environmental factors. Our experts perform a wide variety of treatments to smooth out rough skin.

Tension

Years of chewing and night grinding can cause a person’s masseter (jaw) muscles to become tense, resulting in painful TMJ (temporomandibular joint) disorders. It can also make the masseter muscles larger, giving the jaw an overly square appearance.

Under-Eye Hollows

A deep tear trough (the sunken area beneath the eye and above the upper cheek) can result from a natural loss of tissue over time. In some cases, they can also be genetic. These under-eye hollows can make someone look older and constantly exhausted.

Volume Enhancement

One’s features may lack volume due to genetics or lose volume over time due to natural tissue loss. Are you self-conscious about thinning temples, gaunt cheeks, or sagging earlobes? Have you developed hollowness in the jawline or the backs of the hands? Do you have thin lips, a recessed chin, or hollow under-eye areas? If so, consider a visit to Batniji Facial Plastic Surgery.
