Chin Implants in Newport Beach and Beverly Hills

Chin Augmentation in Newport BeachChin augmentation is a surgical procedure which uses a chin implant to improve a receding chin. The surgery can create a more balanced profile and better facial harmony. With the help of chin implants, patients can add definition and volume to their weak and recessed chin.

Our chin plays a crucial role in the symmetry and aesthetics of our face. Many of the facial features give character to our appearance, including the chin. For ages, we have associated a strong and well-defined chin with strength and courage and a poorly defined chin with weakness.

What is chin augmentation?

Chin enhancement improves the contours and definition of the chin, jawline, and neck. This surgery is also called genioplasty. During the surgery, Dr. Batniji places a custom-made chin implant in the patient’s chin, augmenting their chin size and making it look more pronounced. Chin-augmentation surgery can provide permanent results.

What are chin implants made of?

Chin implants come in a variety of materials, including custom-made Mersilene mesh implants and silicone implants. Because they provide very natural results, Dr. Batniji generally prefers to use extended anatomical implants coated with a Goretex-like product.

Is chin augmentation the right option for me?

You can opt for a chin-enhancement surgery if you feel that your chin isn’t symmetrical to the rest of your face. You can also opt for a chin implant if you are disappointed with your recessed chin.

Sometimes, some people look like they have a double chin despite not being chubby. This is because they have a rather small chin bone. Augmenting chin size can help them correct this flaw in their appearance by creating a better definition.

Chin augmentation is appropriate for healthy men and women who have reasonable expectations for improving a chin that is weak in appearance. Augmentation can also be achieved with the use of the injectable filler Radiesse and this is a good alternative for those individuals who are not yet ready for an implant.

What to Expect During a Chin Implant Consultation and Pre-Op Visit?

Is it safe to have another plastic surgery with my chin implant procedure?

Chin augmentation can be performed by itself, however Dr. Batniji often performs it in conjunction with rhinoplasty, neck liposuction, cervical lipectomy, submentoplasty, necklift or facelift at his Newport Beach practice.

Where does Dr. Batniji perform the chin augmentation surgery?

Dr. Batniji may perform your chin augmentation procedure at a surgery center or hospital. He is affiliated with several fully accredited surgery centers and hospitals throughout Southern California, and these include the Newport Beach Surgery Center and Hoag Hospital.

What type of anesthesia is used for chin implant surgery?

Dr. Batniji commonly uses intravenous sedation with local anesthesia to maximize the patient’s comfort, however general anesthesia may be used if multiple procedures are being performed at once.

How long does a chin augmentation take?

Surgical times for chin augmentation tend to average thirty minutes to one hour. It is an outpatient procedure.

What happens during a chin augmentation surgery with Dr. Batniji?

Once the anesthesia is administered, Dr. Batniji proceeds to make an incision in the chin area. This incision is utilized to place the chin implant expertly on the chin bone.

The chin implant may be placed through one of two locations: underneath the chin or inside of the mouth. The incision on the chin is designed to be well hidden from view and also allows other procedures, such as neck liposuction, cervical lipectomy, submentoplasty and the neck lift, to be performed through the same incision. For this reason, and because the incision inside of the mouth may involve a higher rate of infection requiring implant removal, Dr. Batniji tends to prefer the chin incision.

The incision made is stitched shut after the implant is placed. Bandages may be applied on the chin to expedite the overall healing process.

What will my recovery be like after my chin implant?

Some amount of swelling, bruising and discomfort can be expected after your chin implant surgery. Discomfort can be treated with medication. Dressings applied after surgery will be removed on the following day. You will likely find that you can return to work within one week of your surgery. However, you will be advised to wait several weeks before partaking in more strenuous activities, particularly those in which the face may be bumped or jarred.

Choose only the best surgeon to perform your surgery

Having multiple procedures: face and chin lift, upper and lower eyes, and forehead lift done at once, I was a little concerned, however I needn’t have been, I had absolutely NO pain and NO bruising! Dr. Batniji assured me that I would be quite pleased with the results and he was absolutely right! He and his staff exceeded my expectations. I would recommend ONLY Dr. Batniji to my family and friends ( and I am in the Healthcare Industry)!– Viktoria M., San Diego, CA
