I understand that for a facelift there will be stitches placed after the surgery to hold the skin in place

I see all my patients the following day after a facelift. I usually place drains to evacuate any fluid collection that may tend to collect underneath the skin; I remove these drains on the 2nd or 3rd day after surgery. Although the majority of the skin sutures I use in facelift surgery are dissolvable, I do remove the sutures one week after surgery.
